In 2019, two researchers with expertise in high-resolution flood modeling and decision support for the insurance value of nature-based solutions came together with a shared vision. Recognizing the urgent need for scalable, practical tools to address current and future climate challenges, they set out to create innovative approaches that empower urban decision-makers. Their goal was to produce compelling business cases for aggregated investment in nature-based solutions by demonstrating their co-benefits, such as reduced risk and enhanced resilience.
Today, BitaGreen collaborates with cities aspiring to become nature-positive and healthy, as well as with private asset owners seeking to protect value and ensure service continuity while contributing to a more resilient environment.
As a spin-off of the Department of Water and Climate at the Brussels University, we remain deeply engaged in research, ensuring that our solutions are grounded in cutting-edge science and tailored to meet the needs of both industry and public-sector decision-makers.
